Fatal Traffic Accident at 13100 Fondren

August 24, 2009 - Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in the 13100 block of Fondren about 5:25 a.m. today. 

The male victim, identified as Domingo Suy, unknown age and address, was pronounced dead at the scene. 

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant J. Calley and Officer D. Hall reported: 

According to witnesses, Mr. Suy was driving a white Mitsubishi Gallant southbound on Fondren at a high rate of speed.  Suy failed to control the speed of the Mitsubishi, struck a train at the intersection of Highway 90 and Fondren, and the Mitsubishi then burst into flames.  It has not been determined if Suy died as a result of the fire or the impact of the accident. 

The railroad arms and crossing signals were checked by railroad personnel and appeared to be working. 

The investigation is continuing.
