Investigation Into Fatal Shooting at 6516 Utah

August 24, 2009 - Houston police are investigating the fatal shooing of a man found at 6516 Utah Street about 5:40 p.m. on Friday (Aug. 21).

The victim, Frank Bernard Smithers, 23, of Houston, suffered a gunshot wound to the chest and was pronounced dead at the scene.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant R. Torres and Senior Police Officer S. Anderson reported:

Mr. Smithers suffered a gunshot wound to the chest at an unknown location and was driven to this location where he died a short time later.  According to witnesses, Smithers was left at the location by three unknown persons.
