Suspect Arrested in Stabbing at 4417 Cavalcade

August 4, 2009 - Charges are pending against a suspect arrested in the stabbing of a man at 4417 Cavalcade about 8:50 p.m. on Monday (Aug. 3). 

The suspect, Lagenia Ruth Bennett (b/f, DOB: 6-6-82) faces a charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

The victim, Willie James Pryor, 67, suffered a stab wound and was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital in an unknown condition. 

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant R. J. Blain and Officer J. T. Blain reported: 

According to witnesses, Mr. Pryor and Bennett got into an argument and, at some point, Bennett stabbed Pryor.  Bennett was taken into custody at the scene and admitted to her role in this incident.
