Fatal Traffic Accident at 10400 Katy Freeway Service Road

April 30, 2008 - Houston police are investigating the death of a man found in a submerged vehicle at 10400 Katy Freeway (West Interstate Highway 10) service road about 9:35 a.m. on Wednesday (April 29).

The name of the deceased victim is pending verification by the Harris County Medical Examiner’s Office.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant G.T. Hall and Officer A.N. Taylor reported:

Members of the HPD Dive Team were called to a drainage system area on reports a vehicle was submerged on the Katy Freeway service road due to flooding and heavy rains.  Dive Team officers located the vehicle in the left conduit of the drainage system about 9:35 a.m. and recovered the victim’s body from the vehicle about 12:50 p.m.

The investigation is continuing.
