Charges Filed in Fatal Shooting at 2033 Mangum April 28, 2008 - Charges have been filed against two suspects wanted in the fatal shooting of a man at 2033 Mangum about 12:50 a.m. on April 8. The suspects, Leon Thompson III (b/m, DOB: 4-26-1990) and Tedderick R. Batiste (b/m, DOB: 12/30/1987) are charged with capital murder in the 174th State District Court. Photos of suspects Thompson and Batiste are attached to this news release. The victim, Steve Robbins, suffered multiple gunshot wounds to the torso and was pronounced dead at the scene. HPD Homicide Division Sergeant A. Carrillo and Senior Police Officer H. Chavez reported: Thompson and Batiste entered the Black Widow Tattoo parlor and robbed the three customers inside. Robbins, the tattoo parlor’s artist/owner, intervened and was shot. Thompson and Batiste then fled the scene in a white four-door Cadillac with dark tinted windows and chrome wheels immediately after the shooting.
