HPD Officer Receives 2008 Lynn B. Clooney Memorial Award

April 17, 2009 - Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident at 7123 Avenue K about 2:20 p.m. on Thursday (Apr. 16).

The victim, Leonal Guzman-Lopez Jr., 2 years of age, was transported to Texas Children's Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant S. Sorge and Officer J. Calvillo reported:

Baby Leonal's father was backing into the drive of his residence at 7123 Avenue K when he drove over his son. HFD paramedics then transported the child to the hospital.

No charges have been filed at this time and the investigation is continuing.
