Witnesses said the driver of a green Infiniti G-35 was traveling west on Westheimer at a high rate of speed, possibly racing two other vehicles. The male driver of the Infiniti lost control of the vehicle after striking a curb. The vehicle went up on a sidewalk on the north side of the street and struck a fire hydrant. It then continued on the sidewalk and hit a light pole and then a utility box. At that time, the vehicle spun and ejected one of two female passengers.
Both female passengers were pronounced dead at the scene. The driver and a male passenger were transported to the hospital.
