Suspects Arrested in Fatal Shooting at 4151 Sue Ellen June 25, 2008 - Charges have been filed against three suspects arrested in the fatal shooting of one juvenile female and the wounding of another at 4151 Sue Ellen about 5:30 a.m. on Saturday (June 21). Two adult suspects, Jonathan Manuel Garcia (H/m, DOB: 7/4/89) and Yovani Alberto Reyes (H/m, DOB: 1/28/88) are charged with murder in the 230th State District Court. A third suspect, 16 at the time of the murder, is being referred to Harris County Juvenile Probation authorities on a charge of murder. All three males are accused in the killing of Crystal Sosa, 13, who suffered a gunshot wound and was pronounced dead at the scene. A second juvenile victim, 16, suffered a gunshot wound and was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital where doctors said she is expected to survive her injuries. HPD Homicide Division Senior Police Officers C. L. Scales and T.S. Tyler reported: Garcia, Reyes and the juvenile suspect fired several shots at the residence at 4151 Sue Ellen. The two female victims were shot as they slept in their beds. Investigators discovered the suspects were involved in an ongoing feud with Sosa’s brother, which led to the drive-by shooting. Investigators also learned the residence had been shot at in March 2008, but no one was injured in that incident. It’s believed the same suspects were also responsible for that shooting. In addition to the murder charge, Garcia, Reyes and the juvenile suspect have been charged with deadly conduct based on a separate shooting the same morning. No one was hurt in that incident and the intended target also had an ongoing feud with one of the suspects. Update: GO/JFC |
