Suspect Arrested, Charged in Fatal Shooting at 31 Casa Grande June 16, 2008 - Houston police have arrested a suspect charged in the fatal shooting of a man found at 31 Casa Grande about 10:30 p.m. on June 5. The suspect, Eric Chibu Njoku (b/m, DOB: 5-22-89), was arrested on Saturday (June 14) and charged with murder in the 263rd State District Court. He is accused in the killing of his cousin, Derrell Devon Andrews, 21, of Houston, who suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene. HPD Homicide Division Sergeant R. Torres and Officer S.J. Anderson reported: Mr. Andrews was found on the parking lot of an apartment complex known for drug activity. Some witnesses reported hearing males arguing in the parking lot, then multiple gunshots. When neighbors went outside, the suspect had already fled the location. Investigators developed information and identified Njoku as the suspect. He was arrested without incident. Update JFC/VHS |
