Suspect Sought in Fatal Shooting at 6200 Marinette July 21, 2008 - Houston police are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect wanted in the fatal shooting of a man in the 6200 block of Marinette about 2:40 a.m. on Saturday (July 19). The suspect is described only as a Hispanic male, about 25 years of age, 5 feet 5 inches to 5 feet 7 inches tall and weighing 150 to 160 pounds. He has black hair that was short but long enough on top to be combed back. The victim suffered a gunshot wound and was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity is pending verification by the Harris County Medical Examiner’s Office. HPD Homicide Division Sergeant J. T. Wyers and Officer R. Martinez reported: Patrol officers responded to a drive by shooting call at the Royal Oaks Apartments at 6200 Marinette and found the victim sitting inside his vehicle. Further investigation and witness statements determined the victim had attempted to drive through the security gate of the apartments when a small, gray, four-door newer car with tinted windows pulled up behind him. The suspect then got out of that vehicle, shot the victim through the window of his car and got back into the rear of the gray car. The vehicle then sped off towards Bellerive Street.
