Suspect Arrested in Fatal Shooting at 6000 Sunforest July 17, 2008 - A suspect has been arrested and charged in the fatal shooting of a man in the 6000 block of Sunforest about 10:15 p.m. on Monday (July 14). The suspect, Skylar James Bell (b/m, DOB: 11-16-85), is charged with murder in the 228th State District Court. The victim, whose identity is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Medical Examiner’s Office, suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene. HPD Homicide Division Sergeants A. Carillo and Senior Police Officer H. A. Chavez reported: The victim and Skylar James Bell got into a physical fight earlier in the day. The victim went to another part of the apartment complex after the fight. Bell later approached the victim, shot him several times, and then fled the scene. A follow up investigation led investigators to identify Bell as the suspect in this case. Officer C.G. Franklin of the department’s North Patrol Division arrested him on Wednesday (July 16) in the 5800 block of Lumberdale. Update: GO/JC
