Man Found Fatally Shot at 8600 Clinton Drive

July 8, 2008 - Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man in the 8600 block of Clinton Drive about 12:35 a. m. today (July 8).

The male victim, 67, suffered a gunshot wound to the upper ribcage area and was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Medical Examiner’s Office.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant J. H. Roberts and Senior Police Officer R. Cervantes reported:

A white van, which was possibly used as a mobile check cashing facility, was discovered on the shoulder of the road at 8600 Clinton Drive with the victim in the back. He had been shot at least once. The van appeared to have fresh damage to the left front-end.

It has not been determined if the shooting occurred at 8600 Clinton or another location.
