Two Arrested, Charged in Man’s Death at 5914 West 34th Street

July 3, 2008 - Houston police have arrested two suspects charged in the beating death of a man found at 5914 West 34th Street about 7:20 a.m. on June 26.

Jamel Dante Lewis (b/m, DOB: 8-25-78) and Jose Alfredo Dominguez (H/m, DOB: 7-11-84) are charged with murder in the 209th State District Court. Both are accused in the beating death of Ever M. Gomez, 34, of Houston. Mr. Gomez suffered head injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

HPD Homicide Division Senior Police Officers A.J. Palos and C.T. Hufstedler reported:

Warehouse workers at 5914 West 34th Street found Mr. Gomez unresponsive on the driveway in the rear of the warehouse and called for an ambulance.

Investigators received information on two possible suspects (Lewis and Dominguez) and arrested them on other unrelated charges. Both suspects admitted to their roles in the beating that led to Gomez’s death.
