Incident at 7600 Beechnut January 31, 2008 - Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal shooting of a man taken to 7600 Beechnut from an unknown location on September 20, 2007. The suspect, Craig Desean Vincent (b/m, DOB: 10-22-85), is charged with murder in the 338th State District Court. He is accused in the killing of Cedric Troydale Wills, 17, of 10950 Briar Forest Drive. Wills suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at Memorial Hermann Southwest Hospital (7600 Beechnut). HPD Homicide Division Sergeant P.C. Motard and Officer C.P. Abbondandalo reported: Wills and Vincent were passengers in a vehicle taking part in a drive-by shooting at a rival group of individuals. Vincent was in the front seat and Wills was in the back seat as they both fired shots at the rival group. As Wills and Vincent shot at the group, Vincent shot Wills. Vincent then drove the vehicle to a friend’s residence and transported Wills to the hospital in a different vehicle, dropping him off in the parking lot outside the emergency room. The victim, Wills, was wanted and charged with murder in the 228th State District Court for his role in the fatal shooting of Jackie Louis Morris, 22, on March 25, 2007 at 12500 Alief Clodine. A follow-up investigation led investigators to identify Vincent as the suspect in Wills’ shooting. Vincent was arrested without incident on Monday (January 28) by officers with the HPD’s Westside Gang Unit.
