Incident at 9541 Mesa Drive January 29, 2008 - Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man at 9541 Mesa Drive about 1:40 a.m. on Sunday (Jan. 27). The victim, Nakize Flowers, 20, of 9636 Crofton, suffered a gunshot wound to the chest and was pronounced dead at the scene. HPD Homicide Division Sergeant P. LeBlanc and Officer J. Robles reported: Mr. Flowers was involved in an altercation inside a nightclub at 9541 Mesa. When he and the suspect exited the club, the suspect shot Flowers one time and fled the scene, along with another male. Witnesses told investigators the victim and suspect are from rival groups. The suspect is described as a black male, about 5 feet 8 inches tall, with a chubby build and a fade cut hairstyle. He was clean-shaven and had a tattoo on his shoulder. The suspect was wearing a white muscle T-shirt with blue and black ankle-length shorts. He had a belt with a silver skull-shaped belt buckle imbedded with rhinestones. A second male seen running from the scene was described as a light-skinned black male, 23 or 24 years old, and about 5 feet 3 inches tall. He was wearing a dark warm-up suit.
