Incident at 540 Yorkshire January 26, 2008 - Charges have been filed against a suspect in an aggravated robbery that resulted in the wounding of the suspect and another man at 540 Yorkshire about 3:20 p. m. on Friday (January 25). The suspect, Juan Carlos Aguilar Lopez (H/m, DOB 10-03-86), is charged with aggravated robbery with a deadly weapon in the 178th State District Court. He suffered a gunshot wound to the upper chest and was transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital in stable condition. The victim, identified as Albert Roy Gaw, 40, suffered a gunshot wound to the abdomen and was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital in stable condition. HPD Homicide Division Sergeant R.A. Odom and Officer J. Coffelt reported: Mr. Gaw has just parked his car in the parking lot of the Handi Food Mart and as he was exiting his vehicle, Lopez approached him carrying a handgun. Gaw and Lopez struggled and during the struggle Gaw was shot once. At some point, during the struggle, Gaw was able to produce his own handgun and shot Lopez once.
