Incident at 1900 Chew January 25, 2008 - Houston police are investigating the apparent murder-suicide involving a man and a woman at 1900 Chew about 12:20 a.m. today (January 25). The female victim suffered multiple gunshot wounds to the body and head and was pronounced dead at the scene. The male victim suffered a gunshot wound to the head and was also pronounced dead at the scene. The identity of both victims is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Medical Examiner’s office. HPD Homicide Division Officers E. R. Carstens, R. Trevino and B. D. Evans reported: Officers responded to a welfare check call on the female victim after she had contacted a co-worker for help. As officers arrived at the location, a female was heard screaming inside the residence. Officers attempted to enter the residence but were unable to due to a locked burglar door on the residence. A wrecker was called to the scene and the locked door was forcibly removed. Upon entering the residence, officers found the body of the female victim lying just inside the doorway. The body of the male victim was found lying on the bed of the back master bedroom with an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head. Further investigation determined the couple were reported to girlfriend and boyfriend and had been dating for approximately 6 to 7 months.
