Update on Incident at 12215 Foxton Road February 12, 2008 - Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal shooting of a man at 12215 Foxton Road about 12:30 a. m. on January 10. The suspect, Johnny Manuel Lara (H/m, DOB: 4-13-89), is charged with murder in the 174th State District Court. He is accused in the killing of Larry Wayne Billot, 51, of 5106 Woodville, Pearland, Texas. Mr. Billot suffered a gunshot wound to the head and was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital where he was pronounced dead. HPD Homicide Division Sergeant T. R. Hernandez and Officer X.E. Avila reported: Officers responded to a person down call at 12215 Foxton Road and found Mr. Billot at the location with an unknown injury to his head. HFD paramedics transported Billot to the hospital where doctors determined he had suffered a gunshot wound. Further investigation and statements from relatives determined Billot was driving a rented silver 2007 P. T. Cruiser that was found burned at 8030 Hall Road on Jan. 10. HFD Arson investigators determined the vehicle was intentionally set on fire with an accelerant. Investigators checked nearby stores and gas stations to see if anyone recently purchased accelerants and surveillance video from a couple of nearby businesses developed two males of interest. An HPD officer, who lived in a nearby apartment complex, recognized one of the males as Lara and directed investigators to an apartment complex on 10900 Telephone Road, where Lara lived. Lara was detained and questioned regarding his involvement in the incident and he confessed to shooting Billot and burning his vehicle. The pistol used in the shooting was later recovered.
