Fatal Traffic Accident at 7700 Woodway

December 30, 2008 - Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in the 7700 block of Woodway about 9:50 a.m. on December 24.

The name of the deceased male victim is pending notification to his family members.  He was pronounced dead at the scene.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant A.C. Francois and Officer D. Kizzee reported:

A recycling waste truck owned by VF Waste Services was picking up recycled trash in the Charnwood Subdivision.  While traveling about five miles per hour with an employee standing on a support step outside the vehicle, the employee slipped and fell under the moving truck.  

Paramedics pronounced the employee dead at the scene.  The driver of the truck exhibited no signs of intoxication or impairment.  

The investigation is continuing.
