Auto Pedestrian Fatality at 1500 North Freeway August 4, 2008 - Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in the 1500 block of the North Freeway (Interstate Highway 45 North) about 12:05 p.m. on Sunday (August 3). The victim, Luis F. Lemus, 40, was pronounced dead at the scene. HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant D. Arnold and Officer J. Garcia reported: Mr. Lemus and a friend were traveling northbound on the North Freeway in a maroon Ford Explorer when he struck an unknown make and model vehicle from behind. Lemus and his friend exited the Explorer and got into an argument. Lemus’ friend then ran south on the shoulder of the freeway with Lemus chasing him. Lemus then attempted to cross the southbound lanes of the North Freeway when he was struck by a blue Ford Contour. The investigation is continuing. |
