Incident at 12603 Northborough
September 22, 2007 - Houston police are investigating the fatal stabbing of a man found at
12603 Northborough #1103 about noon on Friday (Sept. 21).
The identity of the male victim, 37, is pending notification to family
members. He suffered a stab wound to the chest and was pronounced dead
at the scene.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeants W.P. Booth and C.E. Elliott and Officer
J.C. Bonaby III reported:
During the early morning hours of Friday (Sept. 21), the victim and the
female suspect were involved in a physical altercation inside of the
apartment they share. During the altercation, the victim struck the
suspect's nine-year-old daughter in the face. The suspect then grabbed
a small kitchen knife and stabbed the victim in the chest. Although
injured, the victim continued to fight with the suspect until the
suspect was able to leave the location with her daughter and another
relative.
The suspect had called police to the apartment to report the
disturbance. As a patrol officer arrived, the suspect left the scene
and the victim locked himself inside of his apartment. After knocking
on the door several times and finding no active disturbance or signs of
an injured party, the officer returned to duty.
Later in the day, fearing another confrontation with her boyfriend, the
suspect called police and requested an escort into her apartment to
retrieve her personal items. Upon entering her apartment with patrol
officers, they found the victim dead on the sofa.
Possible charges against the suspect are pending the outcome of an
autopsy by the Harris County Medical Examiner's office and consultation
with the Harris County District Attorney's office.
The investigation is continuing.
