Suspect Arrested For Improper Relation With a Student, Other Victims Sought
September 20, 2007 - Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested for having improper
relations with a student during the end of the 2006 school year.
Donald Carpenter (b/m, DOB: 6-11-62) is charged with improper relations
with a student in the 263rd State District Court. His photo is attached
to this news release.
HPD Homicide Division Officer M. Ybanez reported:
Mr. Carpenter, a teacher at North Forest Independent School
District's Smiley High School, worked in the Special Education
Department and is accused of having improper sexual contact with a
student assigned to his class. After a lengthy investigation, which
included interviews with all parties involved, the case was presented to
the Child Abuse section of the Harris County District Attorney's
office and charges were accepted.
A warrant for his arrest was issued and Carpenter was arrested on
Tuesday (September 18) while teaching at the high school.
