reported:
On August 23, the two victims and a friend drove up to the Shell gas
station / convenience store at 5803 Fondren. Mr. Campos went into the
store as the two others stayed in their vehicle. When Campos exited the
store, he noticed his two friends standing outside the vehicle and angry
at two males in a green Chevrolet truck parked in the service station.
The friend told Campos the two males showed they had pistols, yelled at
them and made hand gestures towards them.
When Campos, Mr. Hernandez and his friend approached the green truck to
confront the males, the two suspects got out of the truck with guns in
their hands and started shooting. The two suspects fired multiple shots
and wounded Campos and Hernandez. The suspects then got into their
truck to circle the parking lot looking for Campos and Hernandez's
friend. The friend managed to run and jump over a fence into an
adjoining apartment complex as the suspects were firing shots at him.
He was not struck by the gunfire.
The two suspects are only described as young Hispanic males, about 5
feet 6 to 5 feet 7 inches tall and each weighing about 160 pounds. One
has a darker complexion than the other male. Both appeared to be
wearing western style clothing. Their truck was a 1990s model, single
cab, green Chevrolet.
