Incident at 4300 Beggs September 4, 2007 - Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of one male and wounding of another in the 4300 block of Beggs about 10:05 p.m. on Monday (September 3). The victim, 16, suffered multiple gunshot wounds and died at the scene. His identity is being withheld pending notification to next of kin. A second victim was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital in stable condition. HPD Homicide Division Sergeant M.D. Newcomb and Officer A. Mares reported: Both victims were walking southbound on Beggs when they were passed by two suspects in an older model maroon or red Buick. After a possible exchange of words, the driver of the Buick exited with a handgun and fired multiple times at the first victim. A second suspect gave the first suspect a second weapon, which appeared to be an AK-47 assault rifle, and he continued to shoot at the victim multiple times. The victim’s companion was shot in the buttocks and transported to the hospital. The suspects, described only as two Hispanic males, fled south on Beggs, in an older model maroon or dark red Buick. Both suspects are 20 to 21 years of age, with one described as heavy-set with a bald head and the second described as skinny and tall.
