Incident at 4800 Allendale Road November 30, 2007 - Houston police are investigating the robbery and fatal shooting of an off-duty reserve Harris County Precinct 6 deputy constable at 4800 Allendale about 9:25 p.m. on Thursday (Nov. 30). The deputy constable, Carltrell Lewayne Odom, 22, suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene. HPD Homicide Division Sergeant J.H. Roberts and Officer L.K. Lovelace reported: Deputy Odom and two friends were standing and talking on the parking lot of the Concord Apartments when they were approached by four black males wearing hooded sweatshirts. All four males were armed with pistols. The suspects ordered Deputy Odom and his friends to the ground and demanded money and property. Deputy Odom, who was not in uniform, resisted and began struggling with one of the suspects. The deputy managed to break away from the suspect and began to flee on foot on the parking lot. The suspect followed and fired several shots at Deputy Odom. The deputy was struck several times. The four suspects fled in a black Infinity, driven by another male. The suspects are described as being in their mid 20s, with dark complexions and slim builds.
