Incident at 6700 Harrisburg May 30, 2007 - Houston police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a suspect wanted in the attempted capital murder of a police officer at 6700 Harrisburg about 11:45 p.m. on Tuesday (May 29). The wanted suspect is described only as a male wearing dark clothing. HPD Homicide Division Sergeant L.A. Flores and Officer B. Evans reported: HPD Officer C.R. Hazlet was conducting a traffic stop in the 6700 block of Harrisburg when he observed the male suspect on the west side of North Cesar Chavez and Avenue B point and fire a gun in the officer’s direction. After instructing the people he had stopped to leave the area immediately, Officer Hazlet took cover behind his patrol vehicle. The suspect then fled into a nearby neighborhood. Officer Hazlet did not discharge his weapon. Neither the officer nor any citizens were injured.
