Update on Incident at 10910 Gulf Freeway May 15, 2007 - Houston police have learned the identity of a female fatally stabbed at 10910 Gulf Freeway about 8:10 p.m. on Saturday (May 12). The victim, Shamika Collins, 30, suffered a stab wound to her upper abdominal area and was pronounced dead at the scene. HPD Homicide Division Sergeant J.T. Wyers and Officer B.W. Nabors reported: Ms. Collins was involved in an argument with several residents of the apartment complex. The suspect instigated a fight between Collins and another female and cheered for Collins to beat up the other female. As Collins was fighting with two other females, witnesses reported seeing the suspect approach Collins as he reached for something in his waistband. When the females got to their feet, Collins said she had been stabbed and then collapsed. The suspect fled the location on foot. He is described only as a black male, 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighing 150 pounds.
