Incident at 10201 Telephone Road

March 27, 2007 -- Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man at 10201 Telephone Road about 9:20 p.m. on Monday (March 26).

The victim, 56, suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital where he was pronounced dead. His identity is pending verification by the Harris County Medical Examiner’s office.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant R. Torres and Officer K. Carr reported:

The victim was locking up the laundry rooms for the night at the apartment complex when he was assaulted by two suspects. A witness heard gunshots and looked out his window to see the victim fighting with one of the suspects over a gun. The victim was able to take the gun away before the suspects ran from the complex. The victim walked back to his apartment and told his wife to call for an ambulance and police.

The suspects were wearing ski masks and are described only as possible black males.
