Traffic Incident on Gulf Freeway at Cullen

March 3, 2007 -- Houston police are investigating a fatal auto-pedestrian traffic accident on the Gulf Freeway (Interstate 45 South) near Cullen about 12:55 a.m. today (Mar. 3).

The identity of the deceased male pedestrian, 32, is pending notification to family members.

HPD Mobility Incident Management Division Sergeant D.S. Runyan and Officer M.E. Wick reported:

Early indications are the pedestrian was struck and run over by several vehicles as he attempted to cross the main lanes of the Gulf Freeway. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

No charges against any drivers are being contemplated at this time. Anyone with information in this investigation is asked to contact the HPD Mobility Incident Management Division at 713-247-4072.
