HPD Officer Charged with Sexual Assault June 22, 2007 - Charges have been filed against a Houston police officer accused of improper sexual activity with a female as a result of an incident that began on May 17, 2007. Officer E.M. Dargin was sworn in as an HPD officer in June 1983 and is assigned to the Kingwood Patrol Division. Dargin is charged with sexual assault and improper sexual activity with a person in custody in the 209th State District Court. The charges were the result of a criminal investigation conducted by the Houston Police Department. The HPD Internal Affairs Division is continuing an investigation of the incident. Officer Dargin is relieved of duty with pay pending the outcome of the internal investigation. This is the only information available in this ongoing investigation at this time.
