Update on Incident at 13502 Almeda Road June 14, 2007 - Houston police homicide investigators are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying two distinctly described suspects responsible for the fatal shooting of a man at 13502 Almeda Road about 1:15 a.m. on Monday (June 11). The first suspect is described as a white male, more than six feet tall with a skinny build and blonde hair. He has a tattoo on the back of his neck and was last seen wearing a white T-shirt and white shorts. The second suspect is described as a short black male, 5 feet to 5 feet 2 inches tall. He has short hair and was last seen wearing a black muscle type T-shirt, blue jeans and black tennis shoes. The two suspects are believed responsible for committing other armed robberies in the area. The victim, Resendo Rios, 49, of 2132 Kilkenny, suffered a gunshot wound to the head and was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital where he later died. HPD Homicide Division Sergeant W. Brown reported: Mr. Rios attempted to help one of his employees as she was being robbed inside a taqueria stand on the parking lot of his club when he was shot by an unknown suspect. A second suspect robbed another victim on the parking lot before both suspects fled in a dark colored, four-door compact vehicle.
