Incident at 7200 Keller June 8, 2007 - Charges are pending against a suspect wounded by a Houston police officer at 7200 Keller about 3:40 a.m. today (June 8). The suspect, Anthony Daniel Williams (b/m, DOB: 10-29-83), was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital with a gunshot wound to the torso and is expected to recover. Williams faces possible charges of aggravated robbery with a deadly weapon and aggravated assault on a peace officer. Sergeant E.B. Cisneros, who discharged his service weapon, was sworn in as an HPD officer in December 1992 and is assigned to the Eastside Patrol Division. He was not injured in the incident. HPD Homicide Division Sergeants L.A. Flores, O. Belmarez and Officer R. Carstens reported: HPD officers responded to a robbery at an Auto Zone located at 209 Staff Sergeant Macario Garcia Drive. The arriving officer located the victim robbed at gunpoint of his vehicle, a white Ford Explorer. That officer provided other responding officers a description of the stolen vehicle and a second vehicle, a white Oldsmobile driven by a female, believed to be involved as well. Shortly after receiving the description of the vehicles, an officer in the area located both vehicles and alerted officers of their location. Suspect Williams and the driver of the Oldsmobile began to flee in their vehicles as the officer followed Williams in the stolen Expedition. Williams lost control of the Expedition in the 7200 block of Woodridge and struck several parked vehicles before jumping out and fleeing on foot. Sergeant Cisneros pursued Williams on foot but lost sight of him on the south side of a library at 2200 Evergreen. Officers saw Williams run into a dark area on the westside of the library and warned Sergeant Cisneros of Williams’ location, fearing Williams would attempt to ambush Sergeant Cisneros. Sergeant Cisneros ran into the parking lot and past where Williams was hiding. Sergeant Cisneros turned and saw Williams, and ordered him to put his hands up and to lie on the ground. Initially, Williams complied, but then he dropped his hands as if reaching for a weapon, and made an overt move toward Sergeant Cisneros. Sergeant Cisneros, fearing for his life and those of his fellow officers, discharged his duty weapon striking the suspect. The second suspect is described only as a black female who fled in a white, four-door Oldsmobile with Texas license plate number 974-NSG. As is customary in officer-involved shootings in the city limits, the case is being investigated by the HPD Homicide and Internal Affairs Divisions and the Harris County District Attorney’s office. Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of the wanted female or vehicle is asked to contact the HPD Homicide Division at 713-308-3600 or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
