Update on Incident at 5711 Irvington Blvd

January 25, 2007 -- Houston police are investigating the fatal stabbing of a man at 5711 Irvington Boulevard about 9:20 p.m. on Monday (January 22).

The victim was identified as Yime Hernandez, 21, of 818 Eubanks. He suffered a stab wound and was taken to Ben Taub General Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant J.T. Wyers and Officer B.W. Nabors reported:

HPD officers responded to an assault call at the Step In convenience store, after the store clerk found a man unconscious inside a truck in the parking lot. The victim was taken to the hospital by HFD paramedics.
