Traffic Incident at 12900 Westheimer

January 8, 2007 -- Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident at 12900 Westheimer about 11 a.m. today (Jan. 8).

The identity of the deceased victim is pending verification by the Harris County Medical Examiner's office.

HPD Mobility Incident Management Division Sergeant G.T. Hall and Officer C. Green reported:

The driver of a Jeep was traveling westbound on Westheimer and lost control of the vehicle, which crossed over the median striking an eastbound Mercedes Benz head-on. The driver of the Jeep was pronounced dead at the scene and the driver of the Mercedes was transported to an area hospital in critical condition.
