Update on Incident at 5112 Antoine #B

February 10, 2007 -- A suspect has been arrested and charged in the fatal shooting of a man at 5112 Antoine #B about 5:30 a.m. on Saturday (Jan. 20).

The victim is identified as Christopher L. Ball, 30, of 5022 Holly Brook. He suffered a gunshot wound and was pronounced dead at Memorial Hermann Northwest Hospital.

The suspect, Donnel Raymund Polk (b/m, DOB: 3-2-80), is charged with murder in the 184th State District Court.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant J. Binford and Officer R. Swainson reported:

Officers initially responded to Memorial Hermann Northwest Hospital regarding a shooting victim at the location. There, officers learned the shooting occurred at “Tha Trap,” an after hours club at 5112 Antoine. Investigators were told Mr. Ball was a doorman and bouncer at the club. He apparently had an argument with Polk, who on at least one previous occasion had attempted to bring a gun into the club. During the argument, Polk produced a pistol and shot Ball in front of several witnesses. Polk fled and witnesses rendered first aid to Ball and then drove him to the hospital.
