Incident at 5215 Lyndhurst
February 8, 2007 -- Charges
are pending against a juvenile suspect in an incident that left
a child critically injured at 5215 Lyndhurst on Wednesday (February
7).
The victim, Daveon Adams, 2, of 5215 Lyndhurst,
suffered major internal injuries and possible head trauma and
was taken to Memorial Hermann Hospital in critical condition.
The 14- year-old suspect is Daveon’s cousin.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeant D.L. Robertson
and Officer E. Follis reported:
Baby Daveon was left in the care of the suspect
between 8 a.m. and 1 p.m. during which time the suspect struck
Daveon in the abdomen, causing major injuries. The suspect later
discovered Daveon not breathing and called his mother, who then
called 9-1-1 before returning to the residence.
The suspect later confessed to striking Daveon.
Charges of injury to a child are pending and the suspect will
be referred to Harris County Juvenile Probation authorities.
