Incident at 12818 Huntington Venture Drive
February 3, 2007 -- A suspect
wanted for a murder in Huntsville, Texas, was found dead at 12818
Huntington Venture Drive about 4:35 a.m. today (Feb. 3).
The deceased suspect is identified as John Dennis
Kizzee (b/m DOB: 1-15-59). He was pronounced dead at the scene
from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head. Houston
Police Department Homicide Division Officers T. R. Cunningham
and E. Carstens reported:
At the request of the Huntsville Police Department
and the Texas Rangers, HPD was asked to arrest a suspect wanted
in a February 1 murder in Huntsville. The arrest warrant was classified
as being very high risk due to statements the suspect had made
about being arrested. The Houston Police Department’s S.W.A.T.
and Hostage Negotiation Teams went to the location on Huntington
Venture. While in the process of executing the warrant, the suspect
committed suicide with a gunshot wound to the head.
As is customary in in-custody deaths in the city
limits, the incident is being investigated by the HPD Homicide
and Internal Affairs Divisions.
