The suspect, Cedric Eugene Johnson (b/m, DOB: 5/7/68), is charged with capital murder in the 177th State District Court. He is accused in the killing of Elaine Foster, 42, Barbara Bailey, 45, and Jerome Perkins, 50. Johnson was arrested on Thursday (Dec. 20) in the 8800 block of Cullen without incident. Chappell reported: HFD firefighters responded to a fire at the location and discovered the deceased victims inside the residence. Witnesses reported hearing gunshots and observed a white four-door car leaving the area. It is believed the fire was purposely set in order to conceal evidence of the shooting. A follow-up investigation led investigators to identify Cedric Eugene Johnson as the suspect in this case. A witness identified Johnson from surveillance video showing him purchasing items, including the red gas container found at the crime scene, from a convenience store prior to the house fire and fatal shooting.
