Traffic Accident at 500 North Loop East ( I-610)

December 22, 2007 - Charges are pending against a suspect involved in a fatal traffic accident at 500 North Loop East (I-610) about 6:40 p.m. on Friday (Dec. 21).

The suspect, Bruno J. Maciejeski (w/m, 11/26/36) is facing possible charges of criminally negligent homicide or manslaughter depending of the outcome of the investigation.

The deceased male pedestrian is identified as Robert Clifford Rains, 18. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

HPD Mobility Incident Management Division Sergeant L.H. Lefler and Officer M. Lowder reported:

The investigation revealed Mr. Rains was returning to his disabled vehicle, located on the inside lanes of the freeway, with gasoline when Maciejeski, driving a gray Dodge 2500, struck him. Maciejeski returned to scene following the accident and was arrested.

The investigation is continuing.
