Traffic Incident at 7400 Long Point August 25, 2007 - Houston police are investigating a traffic accident involving serious injuries to a pedestrian at 7400 Long Point about 6:30 p.m. on Friday (Aug. 24). The injured pedestrian is identified as Soliz Gabino, 11. The driver of the vehicle, which struck the child, is identified as Jose J. Guevara (H/m, DOB: 2/17/83). He is charged with driving with a suspended license in Harris County Court #15. HPD Mobility Incident Management Division Sergeant L.H. Lefler and Officer B. Banks reported: At approximately 6:30 p.m., Soliz Gabino ran across the street in front of a loading Metro bus and was struck by Guevara, who was driving a Chevrolet truck in the left lane of the roadway. The victim suffered serious facial trauma and was flown to Memorial Hermann Hospital by Life Flight helicopter. At this time, the accident does not appear to be due to negligence on Guevara's part; however, he was arrested and charged as indicated above. The investigation is continuing.
