HPD Officers Catch, Arrest Drug Store Burglar in the Act August 22, 2007 - One of three suspects believed responsible for committing up to a dozen burglaries at Walgreens Drug Stores in the Houston area is in custody after officers with the Westside Patrol Division’s Tactical Unit caught him in the act at a store at 9885 Blackhawk Boulevard about 1:30 a.m. on August 12. Kenny Dean Roswurm (w/m, DOB 5-11-68) is charged with two counts of burglary of a building in the 209th State District Court. He is charged in the incident at Blackhawk Boulevard and a burglary at a Walgreens store at 9375 Veterans Memorial Drive on August 6. Investigators in the Burglary and Theft Division believe Roswurm is responsible for three burglaries and that two other unknown suspects have committed at least nine or 10 burglaries at Walgreens stores since May at the following locations: · 9600 Westheimer on May 24 On August 11, officers with HPD’s Westside Division Tactical Unit conducted surveillance on a suspect believed involved in a large number of nighttime burglaries of Walgreens stores. Officers followed the suspect from his home to a Walgreens store at 9885 Blackhawk Blvd. Once there, officers saw the suspect enter the store just before closing time and noted he did not exit the store when it was closed for the night. Officers then saw the suspect leave the store about 1 a.m. He was carrying bags with money and tools. He managed to get a large amount of cash from the store’s safe and an ATM inside the business. Officers arrested him moments later without incident. A consent to search the suspect’s residence at 11215 Mayfield was obtained and officers recovered large amounts of cash inside the home. At this time, investigators are seeking the public’s help in identifying two other unknown male suspects who may or may not be connected to Roswurm.
