Incident at 7000 Cook Road August 12, 2007 - Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the death of a child at 7000 Cook Road #1002 on Saturday (Aug. 11). The suspect, Kevron Powell (b/m, DOB 7/19/79), is charged with reckless injury to a child in the 184th State District Court. He is accused in the death of David Price, 3, who suffered a head injury. HPD Homicide Division Sergeant A. Carrillo and Officer H.A. Chavez reported: Baby David and two siblings (six and eight years old) were left in the care of the Powell while the mother of the children went to work on Friday (Aug. 10). According to witnesses, Powell was wrestling with all three children when the injury occurred. A short time later, David was transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital where he died from his injuries at 8:20 a.m. on Saturday (Aug. 11).
