Incident at 6500 Whitton
September 24, 2006 -- Houston
police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man at 6500 Whitton
about 3 a.m. on Saturday (Sept. 23).
The victim, identified as Eduardo Quiones, 17,
of 6600 Whitton suffered a gunshot wound to the head and was pronounced
dead at Memorial Hermann Southwest Hospital.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeant B. Harris and
Officer T.J. McCorvey reported:
Officers responded to a shooting call and located
a vehicle with several bullet holes parked in a driveway at 6600
Whitton. They were told the victim had been taken to the hospital
in a private vehicle.
Investigators learned Quiones and a female companion
were driving to a store when they passed a large group of Hispanic
males standing in the 6500 block of Whitton. For unknown reasons,
one or more of those males then started shooting at the vehicle
being driven by the female. When the shooting stopped, the female
noticed Quiones had been shot in the head. She then drove back
to Quiones' home to seek medical help.
