Update on Incident at 10001 Westpark
October 23, 2006 -- Houston
police are asking for the public's assistance in locating a suspect
charged in the fatal stabbing of a man. The incident occurred
at 10001 Westpark on October 7, 2006 at 10:15 p.m.
The suspect, John
Troy King (b/m, DOB: 5-24-76), is charged with murder in the
176th State District Court. A photo of King is attached to this
news release.
The deceased victim is identified as Djuan Jefferson,
35. He sustained stab wounds to the chest and was pronounced dead
at the scene.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeant R. Olivo and Officer
M. Khan reported:
King and another man were overheard arguing over
drugs in the parking lot of the Stoneridge Apartments. King and
the man began fighting and when Jefferson tried to intervene,
King pulled a knife and stabbed Jefferson in the chest. Jefferson
began running and collapsed behind a nearby apartment building.
King fled the scene in a white or a two-tone white Lexus sedan.
