Incident at 5900 Fondren

October 22, 2006 -- Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man at 5900 Fondren about 4:50 a.m. on Saturday (October 21).

The victim, Luis Carlos Diaz, 20, of 10075 Westpark #18, suffered gunshot wounds to the head and chest and was taken to Memorial Hermann Southwest Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant A. Carrillo and Officer H.A. Chavez reported:

The victim was driving his vehicle in the 5900 block of Fondren accompanied by a friend when the suspect (s) drove next to them and fired multiple shots into Diaz' car. Diaz was struck in the head and chest and was taken to a local hospital, where he later died.

The suspect vehicle is described only as an unknown type black car.

There are no known suspects or motive at this time.
