Incident at 7520 Cook Road

October 21, 2006 -- Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man at 7520 Cook Road about 2 p.m. on Friday (October 20).

The victim, a Hispanic male, suffered a gunshot wound and died at the scene. His identity is pending verification by the Harris County Medical Examiner's office.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant B.C. McDaniel and Officer E.M. Follis reported:

Witnesses reported hearing a single gunshot at 7520 Cook Road then saw a man lying in a breezeway of the complex. Witnesses and HFD personnel upon arriving attempted CPR on the victim, but both were unsuccessful.

Witnesses reported seeing a rust or brown full sized older model van leaving the location immediately after the shooting. Witnesses were unable to identify a suspect.
