Traffic Incident at 5400 Northwest Freeway

October 14, 2006 -- Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident involving a pedestrian at 5400 North Freeway about 1:20 a.m. today (Oct. 14).

The deceased pedestrian is identified as Crystal Sanchez, 15.

HPD Mobility Incident Management Division Sergeant S. R. Sorge and Officer M. Wick reported:

An Isuzu truck and a Buick Century struck Ms. Sanchez as she walked in the northbound lanes of the 5400 block of the North Freeway. She was pronounced dead at the scene. It is unknown as to why Sanchez was walking in an area not designated for pedestrian traffic.
