Update on Incident at 6555 Harbor Town #211

-- Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested
in the fatal shooting of a woman at 6555 Harbor Town #211 about
3:25 p.m. on Saturday (Oct. 7).
The suspect, Hector Cristobal Mejia-Estrada (H/m,
10/12/82), has been charged with criminally negligent homicide
in the 208th State District Court. He is accused in the killing
of a 17 year-old female whose identity is pending notification
to the next of kin.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeant M. Newcomb and
Officer A. Mares reported:
The victim, several other females and at least
two males were inside the apartment at the address listed above.
One of the men, a Hispanic male known only as "Snoopy"
was in possession of a pistol, which he fired, striking the victim.
She died at the scene. The men then fled on foot. Investigators
have received information that "Snoopy" may be an MS-13
gang member.
