Incident at 3216 Cactus

October 1, 2006 -- Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man at 3216 Cactus about 5:20 a.m. on Saturday (September 30).

The victim, Marcus Johnson, 30, of 3216 Cactus, suffered a gunshot wound to his side and died at the scene.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant W.P. Booth and Officer A.D. Brown reported:

The victim was shot in his residence during what appeared to be a home invasion for money and drugs. According to friends of the victim, there was a large amount of money and drugs at the residence earlier in the morning. There are no known witnesses to the shooting at this time.
