Incident at 7219 Kings Gate Circle

November 29, 2006 -- Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man at 7219 Kings Gate Circle about 10:45 p.m. on Tuesday (November 28).

The victim, Lanathan Johnson, 23, suffered multiple gunshot wounds and died at the scene.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant L.A. Flores and Officer B. Evans reported:

HPD officers responded to a shooting call at 7219 Kings Gate Circle after witnesses reported hearing about ten gunshots in the area. Mr. Johnson was seen running and collapsing in a breezeway of the apartment complex. A preliminary investigation has revealed this shooting was committed during a drug-related robbery.

The suspect is described only as a black male seen leaving the location in a white Nissan Altima. He was armed with a large caliber rifle.
